Covid Policy 2020

Doing our BEST to keep everyone safe.

During these unprecedented times we have taken steps to follow the government advice and implemented significant changes to how we operate.  This is to ensure  we comply with social distancing and hygiene requirements.  If you have visited the farmhouse before, you will find many aspects of how we manage the classes have changed.  The key areas are listed below.

We understand that this information may be rather overwhelming, but we hope you will understand why we have implemented such strict rules as the safety of our guest and our team is paramount to us.

Please do make sure you read everything so that you are prepared for the new routine when you visit.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are looking forward to welcoming you to All Hallows Farmhouse whether this is a returning visit or a new experience.

Kindest regards and best wishes Lisa, Stuart and everyone at All Hallows.

Opening Times

We are operating on a strict appointment only basis.  If you are arriving for a residential stay (with or without a scheduled class) please arrive at the pre-arranged time.  If for any reason you have been delayed please contact us using the landline number 01725 551185.

Day classes are only available on a ‘one to one’ basis (or for two guests of the same family group).  Please do not arrive any earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled day class.  Please wait outside until we come to greet you.

If you have made good time on your journey and arrive much earlier than anticipated, as we are operating with a much smaller team, there may not be anyone available to greet you.  We suggest that you telephone us as soon as you can and let us know that we should anticipate you earlier than arranged.  Alternatively you make like to your way to Cranborne Garden Centre who also offer a takeaway coffee shop in their café.

Reservations for all of our classes and farmhouse stays are available by email.  Please contact cook@allhallowsfarmhouse.co.uk for latest availability and to reserve dates.

If you telephone the farmhouse you are likely to get the answer machine. We are operating our office at a reduced capacity so please email or leave a message and someone will get back to you within 24 hours.  Before the pandemic we always encouraged clients to call by and say hello.  Unfortunately this is no longer possible and it is likely that we may be teaching online and unable to answer the front door. If you need to make a special journey, please phone or email ahead of time to schedule your visit and we will do all we can to assist you. Thank you.

Extra hygiene and PPE

A designated hand washing sink complete with sanitiser and disposable gloves, will be available for the cookery guests exclusive use. Upon arrival guests will be requested to sanitise their hands in the porch area before entering the farmhouse.

Cookery guests will have a knife wrap and pot of cookery utensils located at their station containing their sole equipment.  This should be left on the tray at the end of the cookery station and will be removed by our helper for cleaning.   Please do not use the kitchen sink for washing up or any other purpose.

All guests joining us for cookery classes will be requested to wear a mask during the session.  Breaks will be taken outside or in the guest sitting room and breakfast room.  These areas will be exclusively for your use during your visit and farmhouse cookery experience.

Your class will operate on an exclusive basis to avoid any unnecessary interaction with other members of staff or guests. Upon arrival we will show you how to access the guest toilet facilities and these will be available for your personal use throughout your entire stay.

We will be wearing masks when we greet you and during your class.  You will be asked to keep long hair tied back and wear a mask when you arrive.  You are welcome to bring your own or these can be provided.  We will also supply a cookery apron that we have washed especially for your session and this will be cleaned with laundry sanitise immediately at the end of each class.

Arrival coffee will be served outside if possible and this will give us an opportunity to run through the schedule.  If the weather is not suitable for being in the garden, then refreshments will be served on a tray in the breakfast room for you to help yourselves. We are sorry but we are no longer allowed to pour or serve your refreshments for you.

You will be asked to use our medical-grade sanitiser at various points of your farmhouse visit.

Children

We cannot allow any children with accompanying adults as it breaks our social distancing ratio. Please email cook@allhallowsfarmhouse.co.uk to request further clarification.

Your arrival and entry to the farmhouse

We are now appointment only. It is not possible to walk into the farmhouse or garden without an appointment. To maintain our social distancing ratios, we will be leading our guests into the kitchen class or accommodation personally.

Cookery class guests: Lisa will greet you at the front door of the farmhouse at the time of your pre-arranged arrival.

Bed and breakfast guests: A member of our team will be anticipating residential guests at their pre-arranged arrival time. Please contact us if you are running late.

Please do not arrive early as this may impede other guests’ appointments or online class.

Please do not arrive late as we must keep every scheduled class on time to avoid breaking our social distancing ratios. If you do arrive late, we may have to turn you away or shorten your cookery class as we must not allow other guests appointments to suffer.

We normally love to welcome your friends and family to join you during your class lunch but until further notice please come to the farmhouse alone and accompanied only by your partner or guest who is included in your pre-arranged reservation.  If your visit is to the farmhouse is for accommodation only, during your time with us, we cannot welcome any of your other friends or guests who may also be staying locally at the same time.

We understand that guests like to take images of their food and recipes during their class; however, we are now requesting that guests bring as few possessions as possible into the cookery area.  So we are not allowing mobile phones, IPads or notepads etc. into the kitchen. If you would like to take a picture of your creation, please take the plate into the breakfast room or garden and use your mobile in these areas.

A file for you to keep, which will include all of the recipes and methods will be provided along with a pencil for you to take notes. An electronic copy along with additional notes and useful information will be sent to you shortly after your class.

We cannot allow anyone other than the tutor and the cookery guest into the kitchen.  Bed and breakfast guests are not permitted to enter the kitchen at any time.  We will also ask you to hang coats and bags in the place provided in the hallway.  Please also remove outdoor shoes before walking upstairs or relaxing in the guest sitting room.

Your health and well being

Do not visit the farmhouse or cookery school if you have a fever, cough, loss of taste or smell. Please email lisa@allhallowsfarmhouse.co.uk immediately if you are suffering any of these symptoms and are due to visit.

We love welcoming everyone to the farmhouse and endeavour to operate a relaxed, inspiring, inclusive as well as diverse environment.  However any guest(s) who are rude, aggressive or violent to any member of our valued team will be asked to leave immediately and may forfeit the remainder of their group cookery class or stay.

Do not come to the farmhouse if you have had a positive test for Covid 19 within the last 14 days.

Do not come to the farmhouse if you have travelled outside of the UK within the last 14 days.

Track and trace requirements

We are required to record the following information prior to your stay:

Names of each visitor to the farmhouse.

Contact phone number of lead visitor

Date and time of arrival

Date and time of departure

Name of assigned staff member who will be assisting guests during their stay or visit.

These records will be held for twenty one days and managed under GDPR regulations.

Cookery class format

To keep everyone safe we will now need to reduce the amount of ‘hands on’ cookery that would normally be included within a full day class.  There will be a combination of demonstration as well as the opportunity to make some recipes from scratch.  Please ask for details as this will vary due to the bespoke nature of each cookery course.  To comply with  social distancing rules it will not be possible for the cookery guests to touch the AGA during the class.  Clear signage as well as social distancing markers on the floor, will be in place to offer both reassurance and guidance.

Lisa always promises to be available by email following any cookery class and will be pleased to offer any support or cookery advice.   Likewise, as we try our utmost to keep everyone safe, if you have any concerns, questions or suggestions please speak to us.
