A busy day getting to grips with the principles of traditional AGA cookery in your home.
You may be moving to your forever home complete with a pre-loved AGA or perhaps you have saved hard for a new kitchen and would love to purchase a cast-iron cooker for the first time.
Whatever your circumstances, you are keen to maximise the potential of your new AGA and would love to receive some friendly advice as well as hone your cookery skills.
This six hour session is the perfect opportunity to find your way around the stove, includes some ‘hands on’ cookery as well as learn the fundamental rules of making the most of your valuable new asset.
We will share lots of hints and tips, explain the AGA rules and why it helps to follow them, as well as give you the chance to hone some cookery skills.
How the day works:
Prior to our visit there will be an exchange of emails, so that we are fully aware of your expectations. As soon as we arrive, we will spend ten minutes chatting on an overview of the cookery session.
Usually we bring all of the fresh produce that is required. We may also pack some of our favourite kitchen utensils and baking ware.
We will spend the whole session cooking together in YOUR kitchen. All of the traditional AGA rules will be fully explained during this personal class. Alternatively if you prefer, we can provide a cookery demonstration and lunch in your home for a charity or social event.
Our philosophy is to teach skills rather than recipes, so we will also share tips on how dishes can be adjusted to take account of the seasons and your store cupboard.
What you will make during the class:
This is up to you! But obviously we will need to plan ahead so let’s arrange a call and chat through your requirements.
At the end of a busy day you will keep a file full of useful recipes, tips and information and following our day with you, we will send electronic copies of your recipes too. If there are any questions that arise after your time with us, Lisa promises that you can contact her at any time for help and advice over the phone or email.
The tuition will draw to a close by 4.30 pm.
Your AGA is perfect for making the most of a busy family kitchen and for entertaining and this six hour personal cookery course will enable you to understand the rules of AGA cookery and to be able to convert all conventional recipes to AGA methods.

‘Yesterday’s Beef Stew was a rip roaring success with my son…..in his words restaurant standard! Mustard mash and vegetables all perfect too.l cheated on a chocolate cake homemade from a local cafe but not great, hence a baking class with you on my return. Lisa I can’t thank you enough for giving me confidence again to feel I can do it.’
